Jasper, Sesame Seed (Tumbled)

Sesame Seed Jasper is also known as Kiwi Jasper. It has been called by both names because the black spots in it have been seen as resembling black sesame seeds or kiwifruit seeds. Sesame jasper is actually not a jasper but a pegmatite with tourmaline and amazonite.

Country of origin: While some sites state it is from New Zealand (because of the kiwi name), we’ve never found reference to it here, and don’t know of any fossickers who are aware of it in NZ.
Size: 25mm – 30mm
Metaphysical Attributes: Sesame Jasper is known to calm the nerves and brings some relief to sufferers of disorders related to morale or mental health.
