Very cool specimens of ventifacts. Each ventifact location gives ventifacts differing from other locations. While there are similarities, they are not generally the same. This could be because of the rock, the sand particles, and wind conditions. A Ventifact is a rock that has been abraded, pitted, etched, grooved, or polished by wind-driven sand.
These particular ventifacts are made of basalt and are often referred to as Bell stones, because of the beautiful tinkling noise when struck together.
