Sand Concretion (Mineral)
$25.00
Sand concretions are naturally occurring spherical or nodular masses that form when mineral cements such as calcite or iron oxides, precipitate from groundwater and bind loose sand grains together. A small object, such as a shell, piece of organic matter, or even a small rock, acts as a nucleus in the loose sand. The minerals precipitate out of the solution and start to crystallise around the nucleus. This is a perfect example.
