Megalodon Tooth, partial (Fossil)

$19.00

The OG of big sharks, Carcharocles Megalodon ravaged the seas for some 15-25 million years, going extinct around 2.5 million years ago. Terrifying in scale, these sharks were likely 15-20m long, weighing in at 40-60 tonnes! Sharks are/were mostly cartilage, so teeth and vertebrae are the only fossilised remains.

The price of complete Megalodon teeth continues to skyrocket, making these partial teeth a really affordable and accessible option. They still show the size, shape, and form of the tooth, with most having good enamel and some even with edge serrations.

While it was thought for many, many years that Megalodon was a distant ancestor of the Great White shark (Lamnidae family), more recent taxonomy research has reclassified Megalodon into the Otodus family.

These partial Megalodon teeth all still show serrations down the side.
