Bumblebee Jasper, Long Oval
$30.00
Bumblebee Jasper is a colourful fibrous calcite. It is made of radially grown fibrous calcite with a distinctive yellow, orange, and black banding, so is not technically a jasper, although generally known as Bumblebee Jasper. The yellow/orange colouring is from a presence of realgar, a mineral with a high concentration of arsenic. In the polishing process all loose, soft material is removed, so handling polished Bumblebee Jasper is considered safe, although always best to wash your hands after touching it.
