Ammonite, Calcified (2) (Fossil)

$29.00

This is an interesting specimen as Calcite has replaced the Aragonite, the mineral making up the shell of the Ammonite, leaving the original shape. The sedimentary matrix is such that the piece can stand alone and be viewed on an angle, making it very appealing. This specimen shows the ‘positive’ side of one Ammonite and the ‘negative’ side of another.

Country of Origin: Lyme Regis, UK
Size: The ammonites measure 45mm x 35mm, while the whole piece is 45mm x 45mm
